A neighbourhood is not just a collection of streets and buildings. It is a place of memory, encounters and everyday life, constantly shaped by the people who live in it and by the transformations of the city.
The Deschidem Mântuleasa Archive brings together stories, research, photographs, maps, artistic interventions and perspectives on the neighbourhood, documented and developed in each edition.
We do not set out to write a definitive monograph, but an open, interdisciplinary and participatory one, in which the past, the present and the possible futures of the neighbourhood are explored together.
Each edition opens a new chapter. Each chapter adds another perspective on Mântuleasa.

The first Deschidem Mântuleasa edition was an experiment in urban exploration, cultural activation and community dialogue. A first step towards an interdisciplinary programme that aims to research, document and reinterpret the neighbourhood, building a living monograph of Mântuleasa over time.
